With or without the Blue Lagoon
On this tour we combine all the best of the peninsula; the lake Kleifarvatn, Seltún geothermal park, the town of Grindavík with its important fishing industry, Gunnuhver, Iceland’s largest geothermal mud pool and Reykjanesviti lighthouse with its dramatic coast and surreal landscape. From there, weather permitting, we will have a view of the island Eldey.
We also visit „the bridge between continents“, a symbolic footbridge which crosses a fissure which provides evidence of the continental drift.
After the black beach, we head to Vík where we might grab a late lunch and visit the Ice-Wear shop for some souvenirs.
Get a QuoteThe Reykjanes Peninsula tour offers a great variety of landscapes, lava fissures, lava fields, and geothermal activity. It’s geologically Iceland‘s youngest part and it’s easy to forget that the capital center is less than 30 miles away.
A popular option is to end the tour at the Blue Lagoon for a refreshing bath in the geothermal waters.
Other optional stops might include Krísuvíkurbjarg cliffs (dependent on road conditions), the 1887 Hvalneskirkja stone-church and Viking World museum in Njarðvík (entrance not included).
Please note that admittance to the Blue Lagoon is NOT included and must be ordered in advance.
